Honestly, what did I expect from a Jim Carrey movie where he becomes God? This is one of the most over-the-top and cheesy comedies I’ve seen in a long time. The dialogue is bonkers, the acting is very average and there’s nothing too special about the cinematography or anything here. Maybe I’ve been watching too many great movies recently. It’s still a really entertaining and hilarious movie. It has some genuinely great scenes that are iconic to this day. But it’s not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. Watch this for a good time, but not if you’re trying to watch something with a little more depth.
