Wow. Just wow. This movie is a beautiful marriage of Yorgos’ style and some solid substance. As usual, his style is the highlight of the movie. My god, all three of the actresses in this movie were phenomenal. Olivia Colman and Emma Stone especially. The weird six-act structure works somehow. And the whole experience is so weirdly entertaining that it leaves you with your jaw dropped by the end. And it’s surprisingly historically accurate. If you want to watch a weird, offbeat movie that’s still hella entertaining and well-made, The Favourite is a perfect movie to check out.
