The Godfather Part 2 (1974) – Reviewed March 15th 2019

DAMN, I really enjoyed this movie. It progresses the storyline beautifully, while also showing Vito’s rise to power. De Niro and Pacino are AMAZING. All the supporting cast does a great job (especially Diane Keaton and Robert Duvall). Coppola’s direction is impeccable as expected. And the three and a half hours fly by very quickly. My only issue with the movie was the amount of Italian in it, which made it almost impossible to understand what was happening in some scenes because there are no subtitles for the Italian dialogue, so you have to play this messed up version of charades and figure out what they’re trying to convey. I loved everything else about this movie and I think it’s a true masterpiece. But the Italian part did make me deduct a few points in my mind.
