I think this is the best dialogue I have ever heard in a movie. The best screenwriter of all time, Aaron Sorkin wrote this masterclass in dialogue. The dialogue flows like poetry or a song. Each syllable carefully crafted to bounce off the previous one. The acting from Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore are brilliant beyond my words. They are simply riveting and make the experience a million times better. This is a wonderfully shot, scored, directed and acted movie. My main flaw is the predicatable nature of the script. The best film critic of all time, Roger Ebert was so quick to point out that not only is there minimal surprise in the film, the entire climax is undermined by the main character using a exposition. If it hadn’t been for this messy, and predictable flow of story, this could have been an all-time great. It’s still incredible to see where Sorkin started and his journey from here has been nothing short of magical.
