Never have I been more pleasantly surprised by a film than with Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. While the name is a mouthful to say, the actual film is absolutely delightful. I was smiling and grinning throughout it’s short 90-minute runtime. If you’re a casual movie fan, this will already be a fun watch with its meta commentary and satire but if you’re a DC or comic book fan in general there’s so much to appreciate. It’s pure pure joy and excitement wrapped up in a hilarious bubble with beautiful animation. The cast from the show are great as always but I did not expect to see Will Arnett (who will always be BoJack to me) play Deathstroke in one of the best comedic voice performances I have seen. Nicholas Cage as Superman might also be one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen if you know the history behind that. Packed with great laughs, a wholesome message, filled to the brim with pop-culture references, and some epic time travel, TTGTM is an amazing experience and I highly recommend to anyone of any age, but I feel like the older you are the more you’ll get out of it and that is a huge compliment for a movie made for ‘kids’.
