Promising Young Woman is such an interesting film to think about and dissect. The inherent concept seems like it wouldn’t work or would come-off as cheesy but the execution is perfect so it makes this a very enjoyable film. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this film. Carey Mulligan gives one of the most riveting performances of the year in this crazy movie. Bo Burnham is also so convincing in his role and the moral grey area that he lies in is so interesting. Emerald Fennell has made the quintessential female revenge film. It is a very interesting film for a moral perspective and while the underlying moral argument is absolute and inarguable, there are so many little things in the film that make it so rich. The ending elevated the film from good to great for me. In addition, the cinematography is breathtaking and the soundtrack/score set the mood so well. I would recommend Promising Young Woman to everyone without blinking twice.
