Plot Summary – Peter escapes from the planet Morag with a valuable orb that Ronan the Accuser wants. He eventually forms a group with unwilling heroes to stop Ronan.

I somehow liked this film, even more, this time. This is like my sixth or seventh rewatch but it’s been a long time since I’ve watched it and I have to say it’s grown on me quite a bit. What Guardians of the Galaxy does so well is blend humour with drama in this epic action adventure where Marvel really went out of their comfort zone. This could have been such a boring run-of-the-mill film but James Gunn brings such a unique and creative vision to it that it explodes with energy in every scene. Chris Pratt is brilliant as Star-Lord and he proved his chops as a leading-man. Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Bautista and Vin Diesel all bring such unique nuances and elements to their performance that they really stand out as some of the most unique characters in cinema. The MCU really needed a breath of fresh air and GotG serves as exactly that. With its masterpiece of a soundtrack and hilarious writing, GotG achieves so much.
