This isn’t art-house cinema or anything but I still found a lot of entertainment and enjoyment in Secret Zoo. I watched this for Karstcast but I still feel like reviewing it because not many people would have heard of this film. The premise in itself is so bizarre that it warrants a watch but it goes so much deeper than that. It’s hilarious at times and also deeply touching at times. It can make you smile and it can make you on the verge of tears. Korean cinema is so unique and this is an example of that. Son Jae-gon directs the film in a pretty conventional way but you still find yourself unsure of who to root for which makes it an interesting film. Ahn Jae-hong gives a really great performance as the Kang Tae Soo, the aspiring lawyer who is placed in charge of this failing zoo. Overall, this was a very entertaining film and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good time.
