I’ll be honest, I was kind of nervous about Wandavision cause I thought it’ll certainly be hard for Marvel to pull off something so different conceptually but I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed. A lot of people are rating it lower because of its ending but 8/9 episodes were still masterful so why should we rate it any worse because the ending was slightly underwhelming due to our own obsessive fan theories.

The first two episodes were so refreshing and unlike most people I found them genuinely hilarious. I found myself laughing and having a great time cause the atmosphere was so unique but there was still this eerie sense that something was wrong and I love how everything escalated from there. A HUGE part of this show was theorizing every week and just the discussion of the show so I don’t know how well that’ll translate into a binging experience but I am sure a binge will definitely set your expectations much lower for the finale and give you a more satisfying conclusion.

The themes of grief and power that are explored throughout the show were handled with so much nuance and I loved Wanda’s character arc throughout the show. I also love how it unravelled like a mystery and just the whole conceit of the show was so well-conceived. I loved our characters outside Westview as well like Monica Rambeau and Jimmy Woo and their character development was so fun. I look at the ending from two perspectives. In terms of the criticism that it became too much like a mainstream MCU property in the end, I’d say that I agree and I would have loved to see it go in a different direction but I can fully understand the choice to do that and it definitely did not detract from my viewing experience. Overall, I’d recommend this to any MCU fan.
