It took me a long time to put into words all the insane feelings I had about this movie. I didn’t plan to watch it, but circumstances arose where I could, so I grabbed the opportunity. I’ll be the first to say that I’m really glad that I watched it because if not anything else it was a really good time at the movies. I was not bored for one second, and it was 160 minutes long. The main criticisms of the film are things that I largely agree with. The dialogue is, in fact, terrible. The romantic plot of the film is too rushed and convenient even for Bollywood standards, and the story is nothing new. I also agree that they’ve tried to push the Hindu agenda a bit too hard. That being said, I still had an amazing time. Cause when you’re not genuinely entertained, you’re still having a good time cause even the bad parts are funny. Maybe that’s because I watched it with my friends, who were all in a light-hearted mood, but there’s a ‘so bad it’s good’ aspect to it as well. The plot is nothing new but still perfectly serviceable and the CGI, for the most part, is incredible. I haven’t seen CGI this good in an Indian film and a lot of Hollywood films as well. Everything looked good and convincing. The performances were also good considering the script that they were given, and I quite liked some of the side characters and felt a connection to them despite their limited dialogue and screen presence. I felt the villain was really weak, and I still didn’t understand her motivations by the end. The ending was pretty fun, and I’m quite excited for the sequel. I really hope that a human writes the dialogue for the sequel and not an AI cause I cannot watch another movie about ‘turning people on’ and ‘finding their button.’ Overall, I’d recommend this movie if you go in with an open mind and an open heart. There’s a really fun time to be had with this movie.
