This is probably the best content to come out overall in 2022 for me. This show is so well-made and so intricately detailed that you rarely remember that this is a Star Wars show. I would recommend this to people who’ve never watched Star Wars before but if you have, then I implore that you watch this show. It is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. The writing is so phenomenal, that it captures the minutiae of conversations and character dynamics. The show is not about guys fighting with laser swords, it’s the boots-on-the-ground story of how a rebellion takes place. It shows you the gritty and day-to-day details of how fascism and an oppressive government can affect a group of people. It shows how difficult it is to battle systemic bigotry and how many cogs have to be in place to topple a government. It does all this while making you care deeply for these characters which is a phenomenal achievement. On top of this, the direction is so beautiful and along with the cinematography creates some extremely memorable shots and moments. Diego Luna is amazing in this role and I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing it. All the other actors are excellent as well and give the show the realism it needs to succeed. I can’t find a single flaw in this entire series and I am just gushing about how beautiful it is. It goes into so many details, that you never thought you wanted to know but are so glad that you do. The amount of creativity and nuance that has gone into realizing this fictional world that has such a rich legacy is phenomenal. This is the best show on Disney+, this is the best show Disney has made so far and this is my favorite content from 2022. I would recommend this to anyone!
